Μόλις ανακοινώθηκαν οι υποψηφιότητες για τα φετινά Όσκαρ και το «The Favourite» του Γιώργου Λάνθιμου είναι υποψήφιο για 10 βραβεία.
Η ανακοίνωση των υποψηφιοτήτων, που μεταδόθηκε μέσω live stream από το YouTube της Αμερικανικής Ακαδημίας Κινηματογράφου, πραγματοποιήθηκε από τους ηθοποιούς Kumail Nanjiani και Tracee Ellis Ross, από το Samuel Goldwyn Theater στο Μπέβερλι Χιλς της Καλιφόρνια.
Η τελετή απονομής των 91ων βραβείων της Αμερικανικής Ακαδημίας Κινηματογράφου θα πραγματοποιηθεί την Κυριακή 24 Φεβρουαρίου στο Dolby Theatre του Λος Άντζελες.
Για πρώτη φορά εδώ και 30 χρόνια, από την απονομή-φιάσκο του 1989, η Ακαδημία δεν έχει ανακοινώσει συγκεκριμένο παρουσιαστή για τη βραδιά, μετά την παραίτηση του αρχικού υποψήφιου Kevin Hart.
